Long Term Effects Of The Muscular-skeletal System

Hypertrophy

Hypertrophy is a muscle cell that increases in size by growing.

  • Over a period of 3-6 weeks of you're usaul exercise 3-4 time per week your muscles will begin to grow this makes the muscle become stronger allowing you to perform activities easier and much more efficiently. To maintain the strength annd body composistion you should keep this up. The training or exercise has to be resistance or weight training and causes microtears.

  • Micro tears cause soreness they are mini tears in the muscles that then rebuild on to the muscle making them stronger than before, it adds an additional layerwhen they grow back because there will be more fibres with makes the muscles bigger and stronger.

Synovial Fluid

Synovial Fluid is a fluid surrounding the joints that lubricates and nourishes certain parts of the joints.

  • The amount of Synovial fluid around the bone increases this is beneficial because its less likely to damage your system. the synovial fluidincrease the amount of movement your body can produce

Cartilage

Cartilage is a type of connective tissue in the body.

  • The amount of cartilage increases this happens because it means that it will take longer to wear away, meaning we can continue exercising for much longer, it also provides much more protection is takes longer to wear away

Tendon

Tendons are flexible but an inelastic cord of strong fibrous collagen tissue attaching a muscle to a bone.

  • There is an increase in tendon strength this means you can use more force in each contraction and have less of a chance of casuing injury to your self. This helps us to exercise easier and make activities less stressful.
